The General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA) is the technical public institution of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) responsible for solving this challenge. In overall, the mission of the GDA is to promote delivery of effective and quality support services in all dimension crop, including technical, regulatory, towards achieving the crop sub-sector strategic development goals.
Reference is made to the consultations between officials of the Project Management Office of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) and officials of the General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA) of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF), the PMO decided to hand over a project entitles “Promote Farmer Investment on Cassava Value Chain Including Extension and Market” to the GDA, and the GDA has accepted the project for implementation. The Letter of Agreement (LOA) was signed in November 12th, 2020 to implement the project entitled “Promote Farmer Investment on Cassava Value Chain Including Extension and Market”.
The aims of this project are to provide technical support to farmers and cassava value chain actors in 9 provinces such as Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pailin, Tbong Khmoum, Stoeung Treng, Kampong Cham, Kratie, Ratanakiri, and Kampong Thom. The target beneficiaries of the project are the producer organizations, agriculture cooperatives, cassava clusters, and potential farmers/private and traders.
Base on the Letter of Agreement between AIMS project management office (PMO) of MOC and the General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA), MAFF, an official team of the GDA was established in order to support the implementation.
